5.13- Review of Episode 13 of Mr. Queen

Today, we’ll be discussing Episode 13 of Mr. Queen, the hit K Drama on Netflix starring Shin Hye-sun as Kim So-yong, Kim Jyung-hun as King Cheoljong, Seol In-ah as Jo Hwa-jin, Na In-woo as Kim Byeong-in, and Choi Jin-hyuk as Jang Bong-hwan. We also talk about poison and assassination by poison during the Joseon dynasty.

We discuss:

  • The songs we featured during the recap: Conspiracy by Kim Deuk-su and Other World by Howl.

  • How this episode is so dark when compared with previous episodes.

  • How the attack against the king is turning family members against each other.

  • The shocking revelation that the king planned the explosion himself.

  • Of all the K Drama elements, we almost missed the back hug by Kim Byeong-in against the queen.

    Hello,
    I have just listened to Ep.15.
    I am really loving your podcast. You have an excellent mix of everything in each episode. I just wish these episodes were longer :)
    I can't wait for Ep.16, which has one the iconic scenes of the series imo.
    I have now listened to all your back-catalog as well.
    As we are getting closer to the end of this season, I hope you discuss "My Mister" next.
    Of course I am biased :). It is my all time favourite series in ANY language, but in the episode of your favourites Sung Hee seems to also love it(Generally speaking, I find my taste aligned quite a bit with S.H.)
    P.S: I really liked "A Time Called You".
